Why you should stop sending long voice messages and suggested alternatives

I am a Millennial, born in 80s, so I do not belong to the group of people who used to send voice messages via WhatsApp, Viber etc. My generation still prefers to send text messages. However, in my network, there are people who choose to communicate with me via Voice Messages, that I do not find convenient and especially when the messages are loooong.

The Main Reasons Why you Should NOT Send Voice Messages

1. It is faster to read a long message than listening to a voice message of 5 minutes.
2. It is not always easy to listen to a voice message. For example, when you are in a noisy place like a bar, or at the beach during a windy day.
3. Sometimes, it is not possible to listen to a voice message because there are other people around, and you do not have headsets.
4. You cannot retrieve the information easily. Let’s say that in the voice message, the sender has mentioned an address or a date. Then, if the receiver would like to find the required piece of information, most probably will need to listen again to the whole voice message.
